Congregational Meetings

We periodically gather together for a Congregational Meeting to review the activities of our church and prepare for the future.  Historically, these meetings were annual events and they were called "Colony Meetings".  Members would host a Colony meeting in their home, where groups of 5-10 people would gather for fellowship, food, and faith-building.  The Colony Meetings occurred in November and provided everyone with opportunity to discuss the church plans for the coming calendar year while also reviewing the first draft of the Annual Budget.

As moved into the 21st century, we decided to shift from annual Colony Meetings to having an "all-church" Congregational Meeting at least once or twice per calendar year.  We now have these meetings on a Sunday morning after a shortened worship service and an abbreviated coffee hour.  These sessions provide members with the opportunity to have discussions in an informal, table-based manner, so that everyone can share their thoughts.
